week 1: 2nd to 5th october 2012

As an event and catering student management at level five, we all had to organise our self s during this week as the event was approaching fast. As we have been provided with the event which is to plan and deliver at a  graduating ceremony, we had a work break down to start with based on individual skills and according to the event in order to  have a successful day. (Vander Wagen, 2007) by planning and plotting of charts it is  to view the nature of the task and the time scale of the whole project. As a group we all had roles in this week and copies of the schedule detailing and designing of the site preparations and construction of the event, other involved in the site planning and development should have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities and bare in mind how delays in their part would have implications on the wider schedule plan (Maralack & Lloyds, 2005).  Having the schedules and everybody aware of their roles is our starting point my role is a chef where by next week we a are supposed to select and recruit more kitchen staff from first year or any other experienced staff to help us with the menu planning.
